Animal Chiropractic for our Senior Pals

Chiropractic is gentle, yet, powerful, for animals of all ages!

I am so happy to care for people of all ages, and animals of several species.

As an animal chiropractor, I love to care for our senior pets in their last years to give them a better opportunity to function with less pain and discomfort.

Chiropractic is based on the fact that living organisms are self-healing and self-regulating.  That’s called homeostasis. We have an innate intelligence which strives to keep us in optimal balance, function, adaptation, and health.  The brain and nervous system is the master system which controls and coordinates all other systems. AND there is an intimate relationship between the health and function of the spine, and the function of the brain and central nervous system.

In order for the brain to function optimally, all of the bones of the spine must function and be in optimal alignment. The purpose of the chiropractic adjustment is to improve the health and function of the spine by correcting vertebral subluxations.  Subluxations cause interference to the performance of the brain and central nervous system.

When provided by a properly trained DC/Animal Chiropractor, or Veterinarian trained in animal chiropractic, our older pets can really function better.  They move better.  They are in less pain.  They may have more energy or vitality.  Any number of positive outcomes may occur as interference to the nervous system is corrected.

There are numerous breeds that are just prone to spinal problems which contribute to less than optimal health.  Some of these are German Shepherds, Dachshunds, Boxers, Boston Terriers, and Bulldogs.  There are many others, but these are breeds in which it’s easy to make the argument for regular care both throughout life to slow, or, prevent problems and in an effort to provide comfort and better function and adaptation for as long as they are with us.

If you’ve ever wondered if chiropractic care could benefit you or a family member – two or four legged, we should talk.  Give me a call and we can have a chat about the potential benefits of chiropractic for both people and animals of all ages. (719) 330-2501.
